Reformative educational systems of new education movement: acomparative approach (Master thesis)

The following study refers to the display and inquiry of the international New Age Movement and its most acquaint representatives, who were the protagonists at the education area for many decades. Our outmost goal leans on the presentation of their most notable characteristics that justify their typification as «alternative school systems». Firstly, our disquisition begins with a brief historical review, the definition of New Education Movement and its classification to individual categories. Then, five known educators are being presented and in particular, Georg Kerschensteiner, Μaria Montessori, Rudolf Steiner, Celestin Freinet and Alexander Neil. More specifically, their biography and philosophical influences are apposed. Moreover, their special identity, their way of ministration, their special characteristics and the most representative critics, approvals and disapprovals for and against them are being referred. At the end of this inquiry, our results in concern to the comparative approach of the -sub examination- pedagogical movements and their highlights are being presented, so as to be approved their elements that make them thrive till nowadays
