The role of teachers in handling school violence (Bachelor thesis)

This paper refers to the phenomenon of school violence and bullying, especially, to the association between teachers and this phenomenon. The causes and consequences of the phenomenon and the forms of school violence and bullying are attributed. The special features of an effective teacher, in order to promote positive social behaviors are analyzed. Teachers’ purpose is to be role models. In addition, problems between teachers and other school society members and problems in cooperation between teachers and parents are referred. At the same time, the preventive measures for teachers and parents are described in their majority. There is a referation to the interventional action programs that have been implemented in several countries and in Greece, as well. Finally, there is also a referation to the organizations that could give information for precautionary measures for incidents and unpleasant situations of this kind to be dealed
