The educational system in Greece and in Sweden and the education of teachers: a comparative approach (Bachelor thesis)

The theme of this thesis is about the greek educational system, and the swedish one. Specifically, the main characteristics which distinguish the two educational systems, their structure and the way they function are presented. The aims of this thesis are to point out as well as delineate the existing similarities and differences between the two countries, concerning education. As for the way of research on the theme, initially a historical survey is attempted in the field greek education, from the foundation of the greek state till nowadays. Consequently, the structure of the greek educational system, as well as the way of its function is presented. The context and the principles that determine and control its organization and administration in Greece are quoted, whereas some data on intercultural education and the opportunities of access to the field of education in general are quoted as well. Then a reference to the evaluation system that supervises the organization follows, as well as to the function and the efficiency of education in the country and the issue concerning teachers and the educational and retraining conditions that are in effect. Next, a similar presentation of the educational system of Sweden is conducted
