Effective classroom management: primary education teacher’s point of view (Bachelor thesis)

With the present study, we try to investigate the different opinions of the teachers of Primary Education regarding the effective classroom management. The study consists of two parts. In the first part, the theoretical one, the concept of “classroom management” is defined. Following, there are investigated the factors that will make it more effective. Moreover, this part deals with the different views expressed by the faculties of the pedagogical thinking and action theories regarding the classroom management. Finally, there is an extensive reference to the question of discipline looking for the causes and the ways of dealing with it, defining the concepts of “punishment” and “penalties” within the framework of effective classroom management. In the second part of the study, the empirical one, it is presented the collection, the analysis and the interpretation of the results that were conducted with the filling in of a questionnaire by 52 teachers of Primary Education in the province of Alexandroupoli. More specifically, the starting point, the purposes and the methodology of the study are mentioned, as well as the data analysis and the conclusions drawn from it
